Mariner’s Call
Oh, gather 'round, ye sailors bold,
A tale of friends in oceans cold,
The whales, they sing, the dolphins play,
Our comrades true, both night and day.
Heave ho, lads, set them free,
From nets and chains beneath the sea,
They save us too, in storm's unrest,
Our steadfast allies, ocean's best.
The dolphins danced, the waves did gleam,
Caught in the thrall of mankind’s scheme.
With harpoons sharp and nets that bind,
Their freedom lost, their fate confined.
Heave ho, lads, set them free,
From nets and chains beneath the sea,
They save us too, in storm's unrest,
Our steadfast allies, ocean's best.
The whales did wail, their voices soared,
Through depths unseen, their hearts implored.
A sailor knows, the ocean’s kin,
Deserve the right to roam within.
Through storms and tides, we held our ground,
Cut through the ropes where they were bound.
With hands and hearts, we fought the fight,
To grant them freedom, morning to night.
Heave ho, lads, set them free,
From nets and chains beneath the sea,
They save us too, in storm's unrest,
Our steadfast allies, ocean's best.
So sing it loud, this shanty proud,
For every fin and every spout.
The ocean roars, the winds do cry,
In thanks for life, 'neath endless sky.
